LINCOLN The Movie

Claudia and I went to see the movie Lincoln,

Lincoln,is a lonely man with grim visions. He is married to a mentally troubled wife, that followed the death of their first son. Lincoln finds politics a sort of relief from family life.

Daniel Day-Lewis' potrayal of,the President is a soft-spoken,Lincoln is a highly intelligent philosopher, Daniel-Day Lewis is amazing as usual, always watchable.

He is extraordinary, displaying an anger and strength of spirit that seem as close as we can come to see how Lincoln actually would have behaved.

Day is surrounded by a cast of stars like Sally Field (Mary Todd Lincoln) and actor James Spader, who offers funny moments as a political fixer, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Lincoln's son Robert.

Lincoln is a, political drama that focuses on the last four months (and one in particular) of the newly re-elected 16th president’s life and his political maneuvering as he works to pass the 13th Amendment and abolish slavery and to end and win the Civil War

Perhaps most surprising is that the film show us the sometimes boring and childish behavior and workings of the democratic process, and even if we know the outcome, the film creates a good level of suspense.

A beautifully done film, with touching moments of one of the greatest Presidents the United States of America has ever had.

Hi Claudia; LOL! Marge thought it was me reviewing...
Day-Lewis is one of the most gifted actors in the world today. When he takes on a part he becomes the character. He studied for hours to get Lincoln's voice down pat. Most people don't know that Lincoln was very soft spoken. When Day-Lewis took on the part of "My Left Foot" he actually taught himself to paint with his left foot.
Great review on the movie. I will get to see it when the DVD is released.
Have a great day ahead my friend. Hugs

Hi Claudia,
Yes, I agree. Lincoln was a great president. I love history and I am sure that I will like this movie. I read, "Killing Lincoln" a few months ago and couldn't put it down.
Have a wonderful day.
