I did go to the Podiatrist last week. The first thing they did was put a sticker on the spot that hurt and took an ex ray of my foot. After the podiatrist examined my foot she said that I had thinning of the protective fat pad in the ball of the foot. She explained that as we age, the fatty protective pad begins to thin out. The rate of this thinning out will vary on each individual. Excessive and prolonged pressure on the ball of the foot will cause the fat pad to be thinned or destroyed.
This made some sense to me since I've been doing aerobic exercise for over 20 years, but haven't had any foot problems. She prescribed an anti inflammatory cream that I have to apply 3 times a day and some gel pads. The gel pads stick to your feet, you put them just below where your pain is and it takes the pressure of the area where your foot is sore, they work great but do not solve the reason for the pain in the first place.
When I came home I started to examine the spot again. This time I felt something rough and protruding where I had the pain. I asked Tony to check the spot where I felt the pain and he said there was a little brown spot surrounded by scaling skin. I think it may be a plantar's wart. The podiatrist didn't see this. I need to find another podiatrist.

Wow Claudia! Tony spotted the wart and the podiatrist didn't!! Yes, you need to see another podiatrist. It amazes me how some so called doctors get away with this! I'm glad the gel pads help you anyway. Take care. Hugs
OMG! She surely should have seen that. I had a plantar wart once and the doctor froze it with some sort of stuff and like magic. . . it was gone.
So painful. Get help soon! See you later! Hugz!
I can't imagine the doctor not seeing that plantar's wart. I guess it is time to see another doctor.
The anonymous person is me. I hit publish instead of an identity. LOL
